The Championship in England is considered the most unpredictable league in the world as it seems anybody can beat anybody. With 24 teams in the league, the top clubs seem to be able to drop points to a lower side but then still win the league. So, who are the ones in for contention?
Fulham
The runaway leaders at the moment with 28 games played and currently top of the table. They are looking good value for that lead as well having accumulated over 70 goals this season so far. Having lost 1-0 to Sheffield United in December, the Cottagers thought enough was enough and went for it attacking wise. In the league Fulham hit seven past Reading, six past Bristol City and Birmingham City as well.
Having been relegated last season Marco Silva’s men look like they are going to be going straight back up as Champions but there are several other teams in the mix.
Blackburn Rovers
Rovers have really shot up the league recently and currently occupy 2nd place. The Lancashire side, before their game against Hull, had got a great run of form going as they were unbeaten since the start of November (where they lost 7-0 to top of the table Fulham). In that run the most important thing for Blackburn has been the ability to keep a clean sheet, they have managed to keep seven of them and record six victories in them games.
Bournemouth
Another fallen Premier League side recently. After five seasons in the topflight they were relegated at the end of the 2019/20 season. A disappointing loss in the play offs against Brentford means they want to go one better this season and gain automatic promotion. However, their form over the Christmas period suggests they may struggle to do that. Just four wins since the start of November does not state title intentions and with it close at the top they might even slip out of the play off places as well.
QPR
Like Blackburn, QPR are another side who have got their form of late to help them up the table. Unbeaten since the end of December and they do not look like stopping. QPR have kept plugging away till the bitter end and are grabbing late goals meaning they are grabbing those vital three points that come with it as well. The momentum could be with QPR as they approach the latter end of the season of gaining promotion.
Where should I put my money?
People in the UK are often looking for the best odds which leads them to question, bet365 or Betfair sportsbook – which is better? These two bookmakers are arguably the biggest in the UK but their odds can vary. However, the two bookmakers can vary massively. With Bet365 offering great odds and introductory offers, grabbing some easy money betting on Fulham then that is one way to go. But with Betfair many customers find that they get better odds than other bookmakers.
Be sure to check out the offers and see which one is best for you especially when it comes to betting on the outright winner of the Championship, it could be done by QPR!
