Actress Jill Jacobson, who appeared on numerous high-profile television shows over a 40-year career, has died at the age of 70.
Jacobson died on Dec. 8 at Cedars-Sinai Culver West Health Center in Culver City, Calif., after a long battle with health, her friend Dan Harary told The Hollywood Reporter. .
Jacobson’s notable roles include Erin Jones, who appeared in 22 episodes of Falcon Crest from 1985 to 1987. LaRue Wilson appeared in eight episodes of The New Gidget from 1986 to 1987. He appeared in two Star Trek shows in the 80s and 90s.
Jacobson’s credits in Gene Roddenberry’s legendary science fiction series include appearing as Vanessa in 1989’s Star Trek: The Next Generation. She also played the role of Aloya in 1996’s Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Jacobson’s colleague Karyn Richman, who worked with him on the Gidget reboot, praised her late colleague personally and professionally to THR.
“Jill’s comedic timing is excellent, and her enthusiasm and love for life made our time together on set a joy,” Richman said.
