TikTok star Chris O’Donnell dies at 31: fans pay tribute, influencer’s cause of death revealed

TikTok star Chris O’Donnell, known online as “Creeohdee,” has died at the age of 31.

The fitness influencer, real name Christopher Ryan O’Donnell, passed away on January 11, according to an online obituary.

According to People magazine, the social media star’s death was ruled a suicide. The Maricopa coroner confirmed to the publication that O’Donnell died from a gunshot wound to the head.

O’Donnell, who quit drinking in 2018 and has been outspoken about mental health, has become popular on TikTok, with 842,000 followers and more than 28.2 million likes. He also had more than 241,000 followers on Instagram.

Although he hasn’t been very active on Instagram lately, he has shared footage of a number of his hiking adventures with captions pondering how he will be remembered after his death in November 2024.

“When I leave this earth, when I leave the rat race, when I lie in the dirt, I wonder if you’ll remember my face,” he captioned the clip.

O’Donnell’s last Instagram post from a week ago shows her standing in the desert wearing a straw cowboy hat, aviator sunglasses and a white button-up shirt.

One of Mr O’Donnell’s friends, Morgan Ballou, wrote a touching tribute on his obituary page: “Chris, I will love you forever.” You have been the light of my life since we met in 2016. I wish we could have moved to California together in 2021 like we were talking about. ”

“I wish we had stayed in touch more than just online every few weeks. So many wishes. Finally, I wish you all the best. My heart is broken. All the love and thoughts in the world to your family and Blue.”

One of his followers also sent a condolence message to the bereaved family, saying, “My condolences. My heart hurts when I think of your family.” I’ve never had the pleasure of knowing Chris, but he was an incredible inspiration to me and motivated me to go to the gym. ”

“I loved watching him share his life online, showcasing his adventures and passion, and living life to the fullest with a fiery smile.”

“I am heartbroken at the loss of such a wonderful and influential man. My thoughts and condolences are with you in your time of grief.”

Fellow TikToker Iron Sanctuary (Kevin Clevenger) shared a video in honor of O’Donnell with his memories of them over the years.

“One day I’ll find peace knowing you’re no longer suffering. But today I’m heartbroken without you. I love you,” he captioned the post, which was uploaded on Thursday. I added.

Fans and loved ones alike flooded the comments section of his last Instagram post with compliments for O’Donnell.

One person wrote: “Chris, I love you. I wish you were here.”

“Rest in peace, brother.”

“Chris, until I can hug you again, brother.”

“Rest in peace, you just met me and you snuggled up to me, you were always so kind to me and treated me like a little brother.” You always believed in me and confirmed that I understood it. I am forever grateful for that. I love you, brother.

“I wish I had a chance to hike the mountains with my brother…maybe someday.” Rest in Peace. ‘

One of O’Donnell’s last posts on TikTok was a video of himself giving a speech at his brother’s wedding.

He wrote, “Being able to launch these two into the next chapter of their lives was one of our proudest moments as brothers.”

In addition to fitness updates and training routines, O’Donnell frequently shared photos and videos of her dogs and outdoor adventures on both platforms.

In another post from 2022, pinned to the top of her Instagram profile, she revealed her background, saying she was born in Norfolk, Virginia and has a “background of mental health and substance abuse.”

“As you may have noticed, I am a content creator and most of my media revolves around fitness. However, fitness is far from my passion,” he wrote.

“I’m a two-time college dropout. I’ve worked countless jobs, from being a pool boy in Florida to covering fish entrails for 20 hours a day in a salmon processing plant in Alaska. I have experienced many different lives in a short period of time and love learning about other cultures and beliefs, which inspires me to challenge my own.”

“I love beautiful things, and there is nothing more beautiful than the world we live in,” he added.

O’Donnell added: “I love all things outdoors and pretty much every animal under the sun (sorry to the mosquitoes). And I have two beautiful puppies, Blue, who accompany me on my adventures. and Riley.”

Later in the post, he wrote, “I’ve been outspoken about mental health since I was in high school talking about it as a YL leader, and I hope it helps others on their own paths. I have also been open about my own struggles in the hope that this will happen.”

“I also got sober in 2018 and have since been advocating for substance abuse awareness and helping struggling men and women find the treatment they need.”

He ended his post by admitting that he is a “very lonely person” and that it “takes a lot of time to fully accept people.”
