Max George reveals that doctors have finally found the cause of his heart condition and that he will soon undergo surgery to have a pacemaker fitted, giving an update on his health from his hospital bed.

Max George shared more details about his diagnosis from his hospital bed on Sunday after doctors released new health information and discovered the cause of his heart condition.

The 36-year-old Wanted singer explained that he suffers from a 2:1 atrioventricular block after revealing earlier this week that he would spend Christmas in hospital undergoing open heart surgery to be fitted with a pacemaker.

Atrioventricular block is a disease that occurs when electrical impulses are delayed or blocked from reaching the ventricles.

The cause is a “mystery” and Max, who has battled alcoholism in the past, previously said: “We’ve brushed off some things, like alcohol. I wasn’t drinking until 4 o’clock.” he said. It’s been half a year, so that won’t happen.”

In this new update, he told his followers, “Good night. I consulted the nurse early. The good news is that I was able to get tested sooner than I expected.”

This comes hours after Max revealed he was scheduled to undergo open-heart surgery to be fitted with the device to prevent his heart from beating too slowly after a problem was discovered “at the bottom of his heart”. That was it.
