A popular actress with a career spanning more than 60 years in television and movies has passed away after a short battle with illness.
On Wednesday afternoon, her representatives issued a short statement acknowledging, “We are saddened to announce that Diane Langton passed away this morning.”
“Diane has had a rich and remarkable career appearing on stage, film and television, including playing the iconic Nana McQueen in Hollyoaks from 2007 to present.
“Diane trained at the Corona Academy and began her professional career as a dancer, touring with ballet companies across Europe and appearing in shows such as That Was the Week That Was and the London Palladium. I also appeared in it,” he added.
Langton had a prolific career before endearing herself to a younger generation of fans as Nana in Channel 4’s teen soap Hollyoaks.

Langton is best known for playing Derek Del Boy Trotter’s girlfriend June Snell in two episodes of the iconic BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses.
The actress first appeared in 2007 as the sassy pink matriarch and remained on the show for two years before quitting in 2009.
She ultimately reprized the role in 2012 and left the role for a second time in 2023, but returned this year.
Langton is best known for playing Derek Del Boy Trotter’s girlfriend June Snell in two episodes of the iconic BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses in 1985 and 1986.
Born in Somerset, she began her career with an uncredited role as a schoolgirl in the 1959 classic Carry on Teacher, co-starring British acting greats Charles Hawtrey and Kenneth Williams. .
As she established herself throughout the 1970s, she landed more prominent roles in the British comedy Percy’s Progress, the popular sitcom Rag Trade, and the sex farce Confessions of a Pop Performer.
Langton would also return to the Carry On series in 1975’s Carry On Laughing and 1976’s Carry On England.
Other memorable television appearances include playing Ruby Rowan in the long-running ITV drama Heartbeat and six episodes of EastEnders.
Fans of the BBC drama will remember Langton from 1998-99, when she played Bev Williams, Cindy Beale’s mother.
