WWDC: Is Apple Preparing for a Huge iPad Upgrade?

The lack of true multi-tasking has long been a criticism of the iPad, but this may (or may not) be about to change, and we may (or may not) learn more about this at Congress Apple Global Developers (WWDC). The grand event begins June 6th.

Let’s mingle, let’s mix it up

Evidence for change is limited – there is additional WebKit code for multitasking mode that implies easily customizable windows. What this might mean in practice is that you will be able to open multiple windows on an iPad and switch them as you wish, closer to the Mac experience.

Developer Steve Troughton-Smith speculates the code could potentially support new iPad OS-powered devices as well as provide a user experience similar to a Mac desktop.
