Why Buddy Franklin’s rumored move to Queensland could DESTROY wife Jesinta’s influential career

Buddy Franklin’s move to Queensland as his whirlwind career could have huge consequences for his model wife Jesinta.

According to top Sydney agents, the WAG, 30, and the AFL star, 35, could find themselves ‘frequent travellers’ to Melbourne and Sydney if Jesinta hopes to maintain her career as a social media influencer.

“The world of influencers is centered around Sydney,” said one insider Daily Telegraph.

“You have to commit to flying to Sydney and attending events. Maybe Jesinta will be.

With more than 370,000 followers on Instagram, Jesinta currently works as a brand ambassador and influencer.

She frequents events in Sydney, and just last month she was the star attraction at a luxury event for beauty brand Lancôme in the city.

She previously toured Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall at a promotional event for streaming service Binge.

If she has to move to Queensland to support Buddy, the former beauty pageant princess could miss out on various paid promotional gigs and lucrative public appearances.

The couple are reportedly planning to sell their luxury home in Sydneythe eastern suburbs and move to Gold Coast.

The rumors come amid reports that Buddy wants to either leave the Sydney Swans for a new club or retire from football altogether after being asked to take a 50 per cent pay cut in 2023.

Jesinta, who hails from the Gold Coast, also recently expressed her desire for the couple to live closer to family.

Rumors of the couple’s move to the Sunshine State were published in Daily Telegraph last week.

The publication contacted Paul Biller of real estate agency Biller Property, who listed the couple’s previous home in the affluent suburb of Rose Bay in 2020.

He sold their twin property in an off-market deal for $3.8 million and denied reports that the couple’s home had been publicly listed.

The Franklins, who have two children together, currently live in a luxury ground-floor apartment nearby, which they also bought off-market.

Jesinta sparked rumors of the move after speaking to Body+Soul in May about her husband’s football career and the family’s future plans.

“I think there’s still a lot of good football left in him, but that’s our dream, whether it’s in five years or 10 years or whenever, to be able to live closer to one of the grandparents and spend quality time with them,” said the model.

Jesinta, who grew up on the Gold Coast, previously said she often tries to visit the city as much as possible to spend time with her family.

Speculation has since mounted after reports emerged that Buddy was considering a move to a third AFL club or retirement after Sydney offered him less than half the money he currently has.

Former premier Hawke had signed a blockbuster nine-year, $10 million deal in 2013 to join Sydney but Herald Sun claims the Swans are currently only offering their star striker around $500,000 for 2023.

Buddy is believed to be looking for a contract worth between $700,000 and $800,000 for next season, which is still a significant pay cut from his previous earnings.

The rumors come amid reports that Buddy wants to either leave the Sydney Swans for a new club or retire from football altogether after being asked to take a 50 per cent pay cut in 2023.
