First of all, if you want to make the most of your stay on the island, it is advisable to hire a car to get around comfortably.
There are many activities to do in Gran Canaria, as well as excellent accommodation options, such as those offered by the Lopesan hotel group, where you will find some of the best options to enjoy the comfort and relaxation that can be found on the island.
Obviously, everything will depend on the intentions of the trip, whether it is to rest and relax, to practice water sports, to celebrate and party until dawn, to get to know the island and its villages, or a combination of each.
1. Maspalomas Dunes
This impressive nature reserve is one of the places in Gran Canaria that cannot be missed.
It has more than 400 hectares of immense dunes that offer visitors an impressive desert-like landscape, with incredible views, particularly at sunrise or sunset, where the play of light provides a very special charm.
2. Its fabulous beaches
Gran Canaria is surrounded by spectacular beaches that are worth visiting and enjoying.
Towards the south we will find the most popular beaches visited by tourists, such as Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas, Meloneras, San Agustín, among many others. These are equipped with all the necessary services for the total comfort of the users.
In the capital of the island we can go to Playa Las Canteras, with its pleasant promenade and its varied offer of restaurants, bars and ice-cream parlours.
3. The island from the sky
For lovers of extreme thrills, in Gran Canaria you have the opportunity to live the great experience of parachute jumping, flying over Playa del Inglés, with its breathtaking views of the coast, to land on the Maspalomas Dunes.
If you have no experience in this type of jump you can opt for a tandem jump in which you will be accompanied by an expert guide at all times.
4. Its nocturnal atmosphere
After spending a day on the beaches, we can close the day with a lot of fun in its numerous clubs, bars or discotheques and have a great time with excellent music and good vibes.
5. Puerto Mogan
One of the most beautiful places on the island, this fishing port with its beautiful houses surrounded by flowers is known as the “little Venice” because it has salt water canals that are joined by various bridges and avenues.
There you can visit the Church of San Antonio, and go to the beach of Mogán to enjoy its serene and crystalline waters.
6. The historic centre of Las Palmas
The whole structure of the town is still in excellent condition, with its old houses and buildings. It will be a nice experience to visit the Cathedral of Santa Ana, the castles and palaces in the area.
The neighbourhood of Vegueta is worth a visit, and it is worth seeing the Plaza San Antonio Abad, its museums, the Casa de Colón, among others.
7. Ferry Journey
