The incident occurred on the M5 southbound from J28A373 Station Road to J29A3015 Honiton Road. Force Incident Managers of Devon and Cornwall police confirmed that police officers were at the scene of a single car accident. All lanes have been restarted.
Traffic monitoring service Inrix said: “Report of an accident on the M5 Southbound from J28 A373 Station Road (Cullompton / Service Area) to J29 A3015 Honiton Road (Exeter / Honiton).
“Traffic is dealing well. Callers report that the vehicle has collided with a median strip.”
All lanes have been reopened and the accident seems to have been resolved.
“Lane 3 (of the three) has been closed.
“There was traffic for about 20 minutes after the vehicle collided with the median strip.”
This crash occurs just hours after the M5 is closed after a vehicle crash.
On Thursday, police closed the southbound entrance slip road at Junction 22 (Burnham-on-Sea) around 3 pm.
Officers say the speed of traffic is unacceptable.
A social media post from the Avon and Somerset Police Road Guard said:
“95mph for a large van, 77mph for towing a trailer, and a recorded top speed of 112mph.
“This level of driving is unacceptable at @ASPolice.”
