The Russian president has had two sons with gymnast Alina Kabaeva, it has been claimed.

The first of Vladimir Putin’s children with the gold medal winner 31 years his junior was presumably born in secret in Switzerland and under high security in 2015 – a source linked to the obstetrician says.

The second son was born in 2019 in Moscow with the same specialist after flying Russia before the birth, Swiss newspaper Sonntagszeitung reported.

Putin, 69, has long denied a relationship with Olympic gold medalist Kabaeva, now 38.

He hid the alleged secret family from voters – and was not present at either birth.

But the report seems to confirm long-term speculation about a Putin-Kabaeva family – although previous claims have suggested that the second child was a twin.

It also indicates that Kabaeva is the secret Russian first lady – but she is still not sanctioned, in the middle of the war in Ukraine.

The source of the new report is said to be a personal friend of Kabaeva, who also knows the obstetrician – an unnamed Soviet-born physician who has known Putin and a long-time Swiss citizen for more than three decades. t emigrated from Russia.

The paper reported: ‘Our source clearly states:’ Alina’s relationship with Putin existed.

“Their children – two sons – are Putin’s children.

‘Alina had no other relationship. That would have been too dangerous for her. “

The obstetrician “maintains a trusting relationship with Putin”, according to the report.

In 2015, the Kremlin denied the birth.

It was Putin’s decision for the second son born in Moscow, the newspaper reported.

Kabaeva is believed to have begun her relationship with Putin in 2007.

She previously won gold at the 2000 Olympics, before being banned in 2001 for failing a doping test.

Recent rumors suggest that she and her young children were hiding in a retreating Swiss chalet before the war.

However, days ago, she reappeared in Moscow – after missing four months.

Representatives of the Swiss government say there is no indication that Kabaeva has been in the country recently.

Kabaeva made her first public appearance since the war began in Ukraine in Moscow last weekend and wore a wedding ring.

This followed rumors that she had gone into hiding in Switzerland – or in a hi-tech Siberian nuclear bunker.

Russians were struck by Kabaeva’s new look last weekend, which sparked rumors about recent cosmetic surgery.

The country’s Cosmopolitan said ‘what has really changed in Kabaeva’s face’, adding that ‘the legendary athlete was noticeably more beautiful’.

But publications are careful not to link them to Putin.

Putin’s opposition leader in prison Alexei Navalny has demanded sanctions against her.

Rumors first connected her romantically with Putin as long ago as 2008 when she was a pro-Kremlin MP.

Putin has two officially recognized children – Maria, 37, and Katerina, 35, both from first wife Lyudmila.

Dr. Maria Vorontsova, a year younger than Kabaeva, was born when the Russian president was a KGB spy in Germany, is an expert in rare genetic diseases in children.

She is a leading researcher at the National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology of the Ministry of Public Health of Russia.

Her divorced sister Katerina is Deputy Director of the Institute of Mathematical Research of Complex Systems at Moscow State University.

She is a former ‘rock’ n ‘roll’ dancer.

Both daughters have been sanctioned by the West, as opposed to Kabaeva, and Putin’s unrecognized ‘love child’ Luiza Rozova, 19.

Luiza is the daughter of cleaner-turned-multi-millionaire Svetlana Krivonogikh, 45, now co-owner of a large Russian bank, one of the country’s richest women with an estimated £ 74 million in financial and property fortunes.

Putin – who announced in 2013 his divorce from Mrs Lyudmila, a former Aeroflot flight attendant – has previously said: ‘I have a private life in which I do not allow interference.

“It must be respected.”
