Viewers of the midwife speculate that Sister Monica Joan’s days may be numbered after she saw a raven signifying death during last week’s episode.

Fans speculate that it may be Sister Monica, who is in trouble after seeing a raven – which portends trouble – and a clairvoyant also told her that something “unfortunate” was on the horizon.

Timothy Turner actor Max Macmillan has hinted that the end of the current series will be shocking to viewers.

He said: “This whole series was absolutely fantastic, but these next two upcoming episodes of Call the Midwife are the ones I’m most excited about so people can see.

“In all 10 years of this show, this series was the most exhausting physically and mentally ever.”

Stephen McGann, who plays Dr. Turner, said: “It’s big, it’s brilliant and it’s a real challenge,” he said. “And for the people who watch the show, I think it’s a diversion, it’s different, ambitious. Everyone in their path is affected by this.

“Everyone is entering their orbit. It’s devastating, it’s great and it shows us that we keep going and going with this thing and finding new things to tell.
