Vachik Mangassarian dies: SHIELD star agent dies at age 78 in “Covid complications”

Vachik Mangasaryan died at the age of 78, his representative confirmed.

According to Valerie McCaffrey, manager of McCaffrey Talent Management, the Agent of Shield actor died of Covid-19-related complications in Burbank, Los Angeles on Saturday, January 22nd.

Vachik was born in Iran of Armenian descent in 1943 and emigrated to the United States at the age of 23 in the mid-1960s.

In his early twenties, he worked in theaters and occasionally returned to Iran, where he played a role in a film directed by Samuel Khachikian in Iran.

Then, in 1978, he made his first Hollywood breakthrough in South’s Shark.

In the 80’s, Vachik played a minor role in popular television series such as The Fall Guy, The A Team, Murder and She Wrote.

By the 2000s, he had found the work of the mentalist, SHIELD agent, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Stoning of Soraya M.

He last appeared on the screen when he starred in NCIS: Los Angeles in 2019.

Fans of the actor were on Twitter, expressing sadness for the loss, as one wrote. “RIP ACTOR Vachik Mangassarian. You will miss it.”

Another said it was a “RIP Legend” with sad emojis and red heart emojis.

Vachik is survived by two sisters, Linda Lalaian and Elda Hacopian and their spouse, as well as nephews Derek Hacopian and Ara Hacopian, and niece Aida Hacopian.
