UK Weather: Heatwave Ends with Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm Warnings | UK News

Thunderstorms and rain will hit Britain for four days, ending a heat wave that has risen to about 30 ° C (86 ° F) in parts of the country.

The Met Office issued yellow warnings on Wednesday and Thursday to most of England and the eastern half of Wales about flash floods, hail, strong winds, and storms that could cause lightning strikes.

Forecasters said the building could be damaged and the conditions could lead to road and rail delays.

Similar warnings were issued on Friday and Saturday, but only in the eastern and southeastern parts of England.

In some areas, you can see average monthly rainfall in just a few hours.

This was after the hottest day ever recorded on Monday, when temperatures soared to 29.7 ° C (85 ° F) in Teddington, southwest London.

On Wednesdays, temperatures can exceed 30 degrees Celsius before storms begin to flood from Europe in the evening.

Christopher England, weather producer at Sky News, said:

“The southeastern half of England is at greatest risk. The storm will clear the North Sea on Thursday morning, but more storms are expected on Friday and Saturday.”

He added that in some places a total of 30 mm of rainfall per hour is possible and can reach up to 50 mm in a few hours, but these are fairly localized. About 50mm is about the monthly average.

On Thursday, Northern Ireland and Scotland will be milder than the rest of the UK, with bright or sunny days, but a few showers to the west.
