CANELO ALAVREZ will return to the ring with Caleb Plant in just over two weeks in a large, undisputed super-middleweight title battle.
Alvarez last acted in May. When he TKOs Billy Joe Saunders in the eighth round of the title Collision in Texas.
The plant hadn’t fought since January, when he pointed out Caleb Truax, so he had to wait a little longer for this fight.
Nashville fighters defeated Venezuela’s José Uzcategi in 2019 to win their first world title and have defended three times since then.
Alvarez has continued to win in a row after drawing with Gennady Golovkin in 2017.
Since then, he has defeated Golovkin, Rocky Fielding, Daniel Jacobs, Sergey Kovalev, Callum Smith, Avu-Yurdilim and Sanders, becoming a four-weight world champion in the process.
The IBF title of the 168-pound plant represents the last piece of the Alvarez jigsaw puzzle, and we could see the Mexican crowned as the first undisputed champion in his country.
Alvarez and the plant were originally scheduled to clash in September, but negotiations failed a few weeks later before a solution was found.
The battle will take place in US showtime pay-per-view. This is the first time Alvarez hasn’t fought in DAZN State since 2018.
The victory of either fighter will be crowned the second undisputed champion in 2021. Josh Taylor picked up all the belts for £ 140 Defeated Jose Ramirez in May.

What was said?
Alvarez said: “You will see it on November 6th, not my level. You don’t want to fight now, I promise you.
“We came from nothing and worked hard to be here. It upset Eddie for someone to lie about us and talk about trash. That’s it. I We have to show everyone who we are on November 6th.
“Caleb may be at the same level as Sanders and Smith, but he’s not at my level. I respect him not being here to retreat. From today, this will definitely be a good fight. You will see. “
The plant said: “I know only one thing that is better than proving that people are right, and that is proving that people are wrong. I’ve been doing it for the rest of my life. I’m on stage As soon as I stepped into, people couldn’t start talking about what I couldn’t achieve.
“There is no boxing community where I came from. If he could do it, I could see and say I could do it. There was no other professional I could say. All I had was my heart and my heart.
“I don’t do this to get famous or attract attention. When I first started, it was just me and my dad. Nobody thinks I’m standing here today I didn’t. “
Who can Canelo Alvarez fight after Caleb Plant?
Assuming Alvarez defeats the plant and grabs all four 168-pound belts to end the streak, the chances of a megafight from there are almost endless.
Alvarez is a big star in the US and Mexico and can continue to fight in pay-per-view as a free agent for the rest of his career if he so desires.
If Alvarez sticks to PBC and showtime for a while, the big buck against current WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo will make sense.
There may also be a former champion of super middleweight and rising star David Benavidez.
However, at DAZN, there is still the possibility of a trilogy battle with Golovkin, and Kazakh fighters are still resentful of the results of the first two battles.
Otherwise, Alvarez could revisit the former WBO champion light heavyweight after defeating Kovalev in 2019.
Current WBC and IBF champion Artur Beterbiev will be the toughest test in Alvarez’s career as he boasts a 100% KO ratio, the only title holder in boxing. ..
Or, given the relationship with Alvarez’s close-knit promoter Eddie Hearn, there is a route that WBA champion Dmitry Bivol seems more likely to be.
