The US military scrambled to rescue a 3-year-old girl in Honduras during a tropical cyclone eta.

Video shot by surveillance cameras shows a soldier airlifted to a Blackhawk helicopter on Friday holding a child.

The soldiers then took the rest of the family to a helicopter from the city of Lima in the northern Caribbean Sea of ​​Cortez to a safe place.

Dozens of people were killed after a Category 5 hurricane, one of the strongest tropical cyclones that could occur on Earth, struck Central America.

The destruction killed 20 miners in Mexico, 21 in Honduras, 2 in Costa Rica and 2 in Nicaragua.

However, in Guatemala on Thursday, a landslide destroyed 150 homes in San Cristo Barbera Pass, and the storm surge was the worst.

Authorities had listed 27 dead as of Sunday and were still searching for 100 residents who were reported missing.

The twelfth storm of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season struck the region with a wind of 150 mph before it weakened to a tropical cyclone at the end of last week.

However, subsequent aerial footage showed that a trapped family trying to evacuate to the rooftop of San Pedro Sula in Honduras was waiting for rescue teams to come and gather them.

Storm Eta also caused a dangerous flood across Florida’s most densely populated areas on Monday.

The center of the hurricane struck land around 11:00 pm on Sunday over Lower Mate Kamky, in the middle of a chain of small islands forming the Florida Keys.

At the beginning of Monday, it moved to the Gulf of Mexico near where Everglades meets the ocean, with a maximum wind speed of 65 mph.
