As a Senior Marketing Lecturer at the University of Kentucky, I have developed and improved what I call a 3 in 1 hybrid teaching method to provide more flexible learning options for students.
With the 3 in 1 approach, students can participate directly if possible, otherwise they can remotely participate in the live stream of the session at the same time as their on-campus colleagues.
The third key element of the 3 in 1 model is video and other recorded content that is accessible to all students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These contents are used to build on what you have learned in class, regardless of how you participate.
I’ve been teaching this way for years, and my students love it. So what are the benefits?

You might think that allowing students to choose whether to come directly to campus would reduce numbers and reduce engagement. But the opposite was true. We’ve seen the positive impact of using technology to provide students with flexible learning options, but there’s no turning back.
