After the discovery of the “suspicious device,” Sunseeker evacuated from Brighton Beach.
Police urged people to leave part of the beach because the wide strip of the promenade was blocked.
Brighton & Hove police warned the British to stay away from the beach at around 2:20 pm as the temperature reached 16 degrees Celsius.
What appeared to be a mortar ammunition was discovered, and a bomb disposal expert was dispatched for inspection.
The investigation is said to be “in progress”, but the beach is now safe.
Passersby Argus: “I think it’s a suspicious device, and obviously metal detectors have found it.
“They ask everyone to leave the beach and leave the area.”
