This Week’s Wine: Rajame Contante Reserve Malbec 2020
£ 10.99 Virgin wine, 3 *

Belgium’s Camille Genati’s world speed record electric vehicle reached speeds in excess of 100 kmph (66 mph) in 1899 and is commemorated by the label of Malbeck in France.

The cigar-shaped car is named Rajame Contante (Never Content, or Never Satisfied) and is named for this delicious plum and fresh cherry tasting red made in the southern French region of Languedoc. .. Apparently, it also reflects the winemaker’s philosophy, but it’s not clear why they chose a Belgian car over his close rival at the time, Count Gaston de Chasloop Laubat.

Jenatzy (called Red Devil because of the color of his beard) was convinced that his car was the best. Proven shortly after several attempts, it set a speed record for electric vehicles that lasted for more than half a century. It is arguable whether this wine can withstand the challenges of time. The fruity flavor is designed for drinking now, rather than preserving it, and is perfect for tomato sauce meatballs where almond grains and sharp notes on green stalks are cut off. Richness of food.

Penon Breblanc 2020
£ 11.99 Virgin wine, 3 *

Made in Languedoc, this Southern France white is a pear and melon fruity and apple and almond butter mix. It has a lemon flavor and a fresh taste. Made from a blend of five grape varieties: Grenache Blanc, Terret Bolette (also known as Gray Pink Terret Guri) and Vermentino (also known as Roll, used in Kylie Minogue Coated Provence Roses). Great wine. Roussanne and Marsanne always seem to be added together like twins. The result is a wine suitable for almost every occasion.

Lote 25 de Martino Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
£ 10.99 Virgin wine, 3 *

The most notable feature of this Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon is the depth of the punt at the bottom of the glass jar. The conical punts of wine bottles are usually written at home as they have become almost irrelevant thanks to winemaking techniques that remove wine deposits and no longer require a device to check them when pouring wine. there is no. But this beast’s punt was the depth of my thumb. In other words, it’s about five times as deep as you actually need it, it’s just for the show, and you’re running out of more glass than you actually need. The creamy cherry and blackcurrant flavors soften at the opening, but this wine is delicious. Compare this 2019 vintage with the 2016 version announced with a 4-star rating.

Blackfoot Daisy Rose 2020
£ 8.99 Virgin wine, 3 *

This Australian rosé is made from the red grape variety Cabernet Sauvignon, which results in a very delicate pink wine. The flavor of strawberry and apple pie makes it a very pleasant cuff.
