King, 62, said his area of the Hollywood Hills has been told to evacuate as the Runyon Canyon wildfire, known as the Sunset Fire, is burning through homes.
A fire in the Pacific Palisades has forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate, with some abandoning their cars and walking to safety with roads closed.
Firefighters have warned they are running low on water and supplies as they battle the inferno, which is burning through around five soccer fields every minute.
Speaking on GMB this morning, King expressed his heartbreak after a close friend’s home was also destroyed.
“It’s a very strange feeling when you’re packing up your car. You’re getting everything ready. You’re walking around the house, taking pictures, thinking that this might be the last time you’ll actually see it. “I’m doing it,” he said.
“That’s why it breaks my heart to see so many homes. We’re talking about over 1,000 structures gone in the Palisades. I have friends. One of my friends who lives in Malibu has a house on the beach. I lost my house.

“Three other people I know completely lost their homes in the Palisades. It’s one of the strangest, scariest things I’ve ever experienced. In my 25 years here in Los Angeles, I never knew anything like that.”
A raging wildfire is burning through more than thousands of acres of land in Los Angeles at an alarming rate, with residents being warned the worst is yet to come.
“Actually, being here, it’s the most destructive fire in L.A. history,” King said.
“Right near me is Runyon Valley, which is called Sunset Fire, just a few miles away.
“Of course, as we know, the embers of a fire can travel just a few miles, literally five or six miles, and that’s going to start a wildfire.”
He added: “It’s really scary.”
Explaining how seriously he takes evacuation requests, Dr. King said, “The government’s directive is just, ‘Ready, ready, go!'”
“I had been packing for about a day, but a few hours ago I really had to get everything together, load the car, make sure the car was facing the right way, and prepare for any obstacles on the road. We’re ready for a massacre. We have to take it seriously.”
In response to comments by Donald Trump that California’s governor was “not doing a good job” in ensuring the state’s response to the wildfires, King said, “I don’t think it’s time to play political cards. “There is certainly a possibility of that happening.” If we can get through this, there will be big, big questions asked. ”
