The Masters LIVE: Standings and latest scores as Tiger Woods follows Sungjae Im to Augusta

Tiger Woods caught swearing ‘f*** off’ on Masters hot-mic

Catch all the action from day two in Augusta as The Masters the ranking is starting to take shape.

All eyes were on Tiger Woods‘ Spectacular comeback yesterday with the 15-time major champion card an impressive round of 71 to stay in contention, despite it being his first official round of the PGA Tour since the near-fatal car crash that left him feeling “lucky to be alive”. Afterwards, Woods said he was “right where I needed to be”, but admitted his first competitive 18-hole roundback left him in pain. “The walk is not easy, it’s tough,” he said. “It’s going to be difficult for the rest of my life.”

That round, however, left Woods about four shots away, with Sungjae Im’s 67 propelling him into the lead. It looked like it would be Cameroon Smith who would top the leaderboard, but a costly double bogey in 18th left the Players champion a blow behind. World number 1 Scottie Scheffler and 2020 Masters champion Dustin Johnson are both set to charge after rounds of 69 left them three strokes behind. There’s a lot of work for people like Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa to do, however, after the pair worked to open rounds of 73.

Follow live updates from day two of the Masters below:

The 2022 Masters: Double bogey for McIlroy

From looking to get into the race to battling to make the cut – that’s reality for McIlroy now after a double bogey six in the 11th. It all went wrong with the second shot – which was an odd shot and left him nearly 50 yards to the right of the green. It’s +4 for the week for McIlroy now.

The 2022 Masters: I’m back in the water

He managed to bring the stream to 13, but Im didn’t get the break at 15. His ball caught the water at the par-5, causing it to fall behind the green. His uphill throw lands 11 feet and the par putt passes. It’s a bogey six, and that leaves Willett alone in the lead.

The Masters 2022: Willett saves the normal

How about Willett. A really confident shot from the leader saves the par on the 4th from 15 feet.

The Masters 2022

“Forward to the right!” is McIlroy’s call on the 11th, the toughest hole on the course. It tells you everything you need to know about the shot, as it lands among the patrons, a mile from the green.

Fitzpatrick gets a break on the same hole as the gusts of wind catch his ball and prevent it from falling into the water on the left.

The 2022 Masters: Bogey for Woods

Woods actually landed in the fairway bunker on the right side of the hole. He manages to lie on the right side of the green, leaving a decent line to the hole. The ground leaves about 10 feet for his par – which is a similar situation to yesterday.

Unlike yesterday, however, the putt by slips. It’s an opening bogey for Tiger.

Willett also has some work to do to make his par after landing in the bunker at the front of the green on the 4th.

The 2022 Masters: Bogey for Smith

Just as we saw from Sungjae Im earlier, the leader bogeyed the first hole of his round.

Cameron Smith’s early five may be better than his double bogey yesterday, but it came after a nervous shot to the green that left him 10 feet from the hole. He goes down to -3 but at least he has the generous par-5 2nd to come next.

McIlroy also drops a shot at 10th after finding the green side bunker. He’s walking away from discord now.

The Masters 2022: Tiger Woods in progress

He was the story of the day yesterday, and now Tiger Woods’ quest to build on his 71 opening starts.

It will likely be an even tougher physical challenge than yesterday’s round, given the 46-year-old’s lack of golf over the past 18 months. We will know soon because he sends his drive to the left of the fairway.

The Masters 2022: Schwartzel takes over the clubhouse

Charl Schwartzel made it home safely as he saved the par on 18 with a tricky downhill putt to complete an impressive round of 69. I doubt there are too many top scores today.

Speaking of which, Cameron Smith is underway. He leaves with a lead share alongside Im and Willett. Can he extend it? Or is it about holding on in these windy and increasingly cold conditions?

The 2022 Masters: Birdie for Willett

What a start for Danny Willett. After his impressive opening 68 yesterday, the 2016 Masters champion birdied the par-5 second to move to -4 and take a share of the lead.

A punch from Morikawa as he drains a 15-foot putt for bogey from the edge of the green, avoiding the double. Johnson continues with a par.

The 2022 Masters: Birdie for Im

Im sensible play at the par-5 13th. He was able to carry the creek with his approach into the green to set up a long eagle putt, which he just nestled within a foot of the hole for a birdie tap-in.

He took a risk carrying the creek though and was only feet away from finding water himself.
