The Marvelettes singer Wanda Young died at the age of 78, a few years after her illustrious career at Motown.

The singer’s death was confirmed Thursday by her ex-label mate Miracles Claudette Robinson.

The cause of death has been clarified.

The Marvelettes was one of the most influential groups of the Motown era, and I’d like to ask Postman for his number one hit.

The women’s group initially consisted of alumni Gladys Horton, Catherine Anderson, Georgeanna Tillman, Wanita Kawat (now Kawat Motley), and Georgia Dobbins.

The woman was considered the first successful act of Motown Records after a miracle.
