Following his collapse, a source told The Sun newspaper: “Stephen has been going through an incredibly tough time lately.” He is grieving the death of his father, to whom he was very close.
He has also been battling several well-documented health issues and underwent surgery Wednesday morning that required local anesthesia.
“That night he went out to a quiet solo dinner, had a few drinks, and had an incredibly bad reaction. He was just a human being and his father’s death hit him hard. I gave it.”
After paramedics helped Mulhan, he called his mother to let her know he was okay.
A spokesperson told MailOnline: “Stephen has had an incredibly difficult time over the past few weeks.” His beloved father recently passed away and it has hit him hard and he is understandably very stressed.
“Additionally, he had surgery yesterday (Wednesday). After the anesthesia was administered, he drank several drinks which made him feel unwell and actually made him feel unwell.”

The Deal or No Deal star was born in east London in 1977 to market trader parents Christopher and Maureen.

He started out as a magician and went on to become one of Britain’s most popular television presenters.
He credits his success to his parents, saying, “I don’t mean to sound snarky, but my parents worked incredibly hard to raise me and my two brothers and sisters.”
Mulhern began his career at CITV in 1998, working on the children’s TV show Finger Chips with Fearne Cotton.
He also hosted the children’s show Tricky TV from 2005 to 2010 and hosted Holly and Stephen’s Saturday Showdown (originally called Ministry of Mayhem) on Naughty’s. He served as co-host with Willoughby.
Mulhern made his foray into adult television in 2006 with the ITV2 spin-off show Dancing on Ice: Defrost, with former co-hosts Holly and Phillip Schofield hosting the main show. I did.

His first primetime hosting gig was on ITV in 2010 as the frontman for Magic Numbers, and three years later he appeared on the revival of ITV game show Catchphrase.

Another segment he hosted on the show, “In for a Penny”, was given its own standalone show with Stephen at the helm.
As well as his TV work, Mulhern co-hosted Heart Radio’s Sunday Morning with Emma Willis for six years until 2018 and is a regular stand-in on Virgin Radio UK.
