The prospect of a STEAM-centric day at Thorpe Park proved to be a big draw for thousands of students.

The STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) event will take over the entire park on October 4, designed to encourage attendees to consider careers in the burgeoning industry.

The program of expert speakers, activities, exhibits and workshops will feature giant robots, live science demonstrations, orchestral performances and supersonic cars, thanks to partner organizations including the RAF and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The orchestra will play at the main gate, while the RAF will fly Chinook and Puma helicopters, with flight crews on hand to chat with pupils.
