Snoop Dogg “looks forward to the next chapter” after buying Death Row Records Ents and art news

Snoop Dogg described the purchase of Death Row Records – the label that launched his career – as an “extremely meaningful” moment.

IN American rapper said he looked forward to building the label’s “next chapter”.

It’s days before Snoop is due perform in the halftime show of the Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles, along with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.

Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Brody Jr., was born in Long Beach, California, and became famous after releasing his debut album in 1993, Doggystyle.

The album, released on Death Row Records, includes singles including Gin & Juice, Murder Was The Case and Doggy Dogg World.

“I am excited and appreciate the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has a huge untapped future value,” the rapper said in a statement.

“I feel good about owning the label that I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founders.

“It’s a very meaningful moment for me.

“I look forward to creating the next chapter of Death Row Records.”

He later posted a picture on his own Instagram with the caption “Bacc on Death Row”.

Prior to his career success, teen Snoop spent some time in prison for drug crime before one of his early mixtapes impressed NWA co-founder Dre, who invited him to audition.

The release of Doggystyle catapulted him to mass fame, selling millions of copies worldwide, and he released his second, Tha Doggfather, in 1996.

But the rapper got into an argument with Death Row Records over the terms of his contract and the alleged withholding of copyright payments, and he left the label in 1998.

However, the next decade brought more triumphs with the success of the albums Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss, Tha Blue Carpet Treatment and Ego Trippin ‘.

Other albums include Bible Of Love, I Wanna Thank Me and From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites.
