Sibley, Parkinson added to England Lion team for Australia tour

London [UK], October 14th (ANI): A strong team of 14 people was selected for the England Lions Tour of Australia starting in November. The touring party will depart on November 4th with a test specialist selected by the Ash team.

Selection is subject to passing Lions’ minimum fitness standards. This standard will be enforced over the next few weeks.

Lancashire batter Josh Bohannon, Sally’s wicket-keeper Jamie Smith, Warwickshire seamer Liam Norwell and opening batter Rob Yates are new additions to the Lions setup.

The rest of the team has Lions experience in the past. Alex Leeds, the opening round of Durham, will return to the Lions for the first time in six years. The 28-year-old left-handed has a great shape in the County Championship and aims to make an impression on this tour.

Lions will join the camp with the England Ash team and play two in-team matches (1×3 day match and 1×4 day match) in Queensland. They will also face Australia A in a four-day match. The date and venue are undecided. The party will return on December 16th.
