“She Had a Moment”: Sheridan Smith became emotional when the tribute to her friend Amy Winehouse appeared on the new Starstruck show
The 40-year-old actress was a friend of the late singer and was moved when she saw performers paying tribute to the new singer. ITV series, according to her fellow judge Jason Manford.
Speaking to MailOnline, he said: “Some of the performances are beautiful, really wonderful moments. Music has this ability to take you to places.

“Sheridan had a few moments with Amy Winehouse, whom she knew. Adam was watching Freddie Mercury, it was a moment.
Starstruck sees teams of super fans transform into their idol and appear before judges Sheridan, Jason, Beverly Knight and Adam Lambert.
Four teams of three will compete each week to win the votes of the judges and the virtual audience, with the winning trio competing against each other for a place in the final and a chance to win a £ 50,000 cash prize.
Jason added: “I love watching TV on Saturday nights and participating in a show that’s not just a bunch of celebrities having fun. Real people get a chance to live their dream.

“It’s not necessarily the money from the prizes, the prize is tonight’s performance.”
This comes after Amy’s best friend Tyler James previously blamed Sheridan for saving Amy’s life after an overdose two years before her death.
The star found Amy close to death after drinking a whole bottle of Night Nurse and raising an alarm.
The Sun reported that although Amy was taken to hospital several times, this was the only time she was admitted to A&E after drinking or using drugs.
The singer Back To Black tragically died at the age of 27 on July 23, 2011 due to alcohol poisoning.

He told the publication: “Sheridan saved Amy’s life two years before she died. Sheridan was an angel who always did his best for Amy.
“She would have been dead years earlier if it weren’t for Sheridan. I will always be grateful to her for giving me this extra time with Amy.
“Sheridan was an amazing friend of Amy’s. And Amy was for her. They both had problems with demons and mental health and helped each other through them. She was a true friend.
Tyler’s book My Amy tells the story of the iconic troubled life after the two met at Sylvia Young Theater School in London when they were both teenagers.
Amy and Sheridan first met in 2009 at a live music event and immediately clashed, Tyler said in the book.

He explained how he could remember the day Amy almost died “like yesterday” after being awakened by Sheridan at 6 a.m., who told him “something is wrong with Amy.”
He claims to have found her washing in the sink, but “her eyes looked like they were sleeping” before asking Sheridan what Amy had taken.
Tyler said Amy drank a whole bottle of Night Nurse to help her fall asleep, but it contained enough paracetamol to kill her.
Tyler and Sheridan then called an ambulance and she was taken to A&E in an “unrelated” state.
He claims that if Sheridan had not found her, “it would have been the end.”
Starstruck airs on ITV on Saturday, February 12 at 8:30 p.m.
