Dr. Timothy Geary, one of the world’s leading experts in ivermectin, says the drug is ineffective against the virus.
Geary, research chairman of the Parasite Biotechnology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, said the 2020 study that produced much of the ivermectin enthusiasm was not read correctly.
Dr. Timothy Geary (pictured) is one of the top experts in ivermectin and has been studying the drug for over a decade.
He told DailyMail.com that the study showed that ivermectin may inhibit the replication of COVID-19 virus cells.
However, Geary explained that the drug used in this study was so high in concentration that it could not be used to treat humans and could cause overdose.
In that study, they showed that ivermectin could inhibit in cell culture. [Covid] The concentration required for the effect of replication was in the range called the micromolar range-very high and 20-50 times lower than that found in the plasma of treated humans and animals.
He does not feel much harm to people taking the drug at human-sized doses, as Geary guarantees that it is safe to consume.
It is safe to use at doses of about 200 micrograms, and even people who use it to mistreat Covid are unlikely to suffer major symptoms.
“There is no significant toxicity with these doses,” says Geary.
He also said the drug has been used billions of times between humans and animals and has never shown the ability to fight the virus outside the laboratory.
Typical ivermectin prescribed by a doctor is prescribed in the form of small tablets
However, many Americans face the problem of ivermectin because they do not use the version of the drug prescribed by their doctor.
Instead, many are finding their own off-the-shelf solutions. In particular, I go to local feed stores to buy medicine for horses, cows and sheep.
The prescribed versions of the drug are provided in the form of tablets, but these versions are liquids.
The doses are also much higher, targeting animals weighing over 1,000 pounds and weighing less than one-fifth.
Overdose can cause nausea, body pain, diarrhea, swelling of the limbs, and other serious side effects.
In more serious cases, a person overdose can cause serious damage to the central nervous system and in some cases even die.
