Rudy Giuliani threatened with jail over paying his ex-wife for divorce

A judge has threatened former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani with jail time for delaying divorce payments to his ex-wife and missing a court hearing.
Former President Giuliani donald trump‘s personal attorney was scolded by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Katz on Friday.
“The Sheriff has been notified to come today to arrest Giuliani,” Katz said. “This is a very serious matter.”
In September, Katz ordered Giuliani to be arrested unless he paid $235,000 by Friday. The judge reminded Giuliani of the civil contempt order issued against him.
Giuliani claimed he had inadvertently missed a court hearing on his divorce case last month.
“I apologize for not being able to perform,” he said. “I was so stupid. I made a mistake.’
Giuliani said he misspelled the court date and missed it. Katz did not accept that explanation.
“You knew it because you kept dating me,” Katz said at an earlier hearing. But you repeated it, I don’t understand your excuse.
Giuliani claimed he “put it the wrong way when leaving the courthouse.”
His ex-wife Judith sued him in August for $260,000, accusing him of delinquent alimony, condominium and country club payments agreed in the divorce settlement.
“I don’t understand why it takes two months to get a check from Citibank,” says Katz. “You can get your bank records by entering your passcode on your computer. I don’t understand why you’re so late.
Giuliani provided a copy of the check he said exonerated him from the money Judith said he owed her.
“These amounts are devastating, but they are also completely false,” Giuliani said.
The judge accepted the records and said he would review them to determine how much Giuliani owed his ex-wife.
