In response to Carrick’s post-match comments, Keane said:

“Everything he said, he’s talking about plans, he’s talking about penalties. Of course it was a penalty, we all saw it. It’s a penalty.

Michael Carrick’s Roy Keane

He states: “I’ve been impressed with Manchester United over the last few years. For the staff in the back room and the people upstairs, it’s a little job for the boy.

“Wink and take care of each other, so they are 8th or 9th in the league.

“Evidence is in pudding over the next few months, with those coming into the club.

“We want anyone who comes in to make the right decisions and get the right people for the job.

“Not because they may know who they are, or because they are good people. If you want loyalty, go and have your own dog.

“I’ve been studying Manchester United and the changes they’re making over the last few years, but I’m not sure if they’re getting the right people for the job.

“There is definitely a bit of fellow action happening at Manchester United.”
