Rapper Drakeo the Ruler dies at age 28 after being stabbed at a festival in Los Angeles | Ent & Arts News

Rapper Drakeo died after being stabbed at a Los Angeles music festival.

The 28-year-old was attacked on Saturday night at a once upon a time concert in Los Angeles, where he and stars such as Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Ice Cube were scheduled to perform.

Spokesperson Scott Johnson confirmed his death at the New York Times and Rolling Stone on Sunday.

He was killed after a fight broke out behind the main stage shortly after 8:30 pm, according to a statement from the California Highway Patrol.

Sources allegedly aware of the incident told the LA Times that he had been attacked by a group of people-and the newspaper reported that no arrest had taken place.

A rapper with his real name Darrion Caldwell was taken to the hospital and died.

After the incident, the festival was cancelled.

Snoop Dogg condolences to Caldwell’s family on social media, saying he was in the dressing room when he heard about the puncture wound and left the festival soon.

“Be careful, love each other and be safe. We pray for peace in hip hop,” he told his followers.

Drakeo the Ruler first released a mixtape in 2015, and his debut album, The Truth Hurts, was released in February.

His dark comedy lyrics and deadpan delivery praised him as “the most original stylist on the West Coast.”

Coldwell was released from prison last November after reaching an agreement with a prosecutor who tried to bring him to trial on suspicion of conspiracy to kill a man in 2016.

He was previously acquitted of a felony murder and attempted murder in the case.
