Prince Andrew is facing intense scrutiny over his links to a suspected Chinese spy who was expelled from the UK by MI5.
The Far East agent was apparently close enough to the royal family that he was invited to the Duke of York’s birthday party. But he is now banned from entering the UK “for security reasons”.
Mr Andrew’s adviser is said to have boasted to the suspected Chinese spy: “You’re sitting at the top of a tree where a lot of people want to sit.”
The suspected spy had become so close to the British establishment that he was given the power to seek out investors in China on the duke’s behalf, a secret hearing has revealed.
It’s the latest humiliation for Prince Andrew, already a pariah in the royal family after being forced to step back from palace duties in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein pedophile scandal.
Andrew, a former British trade envoy, has been courted by influential businessmen for years. However, in regards to the Chinese man, MI5 is said to have discovered that the 50-year-old businessman was a member of the Chinese Communist Party and worked for the intelligence-gathering United Front Intelligence Department.
The Chinese businessman has been exposed as a suspected Chinese spy in an unusual case that has been mostly conducted behind closed doors.
This is the latest humiliation for Prince Andrew, who is already a pariah in the royal family after being forced to step back from palace duties in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein pedophile scandal.
The Far East agent was apparently so close to the royal family that he was invited to the Duke of York’s birthday party.
The suspected spy was banned from entering the UK, a decision upheld by an immigration judge and an unsuccessful appeal to the Special Immigration Appeals Board, whose decision was published tonight.
During the proceedings, which are now public, judges were told that data from the suspected spy’s mobile phone implicated Prince Andrew.
The hearing was told that the contents of the businessman’s mobile phone were downloaded when he was stopped at the UK border in 2021 under counter-terrorism laws.
The contents of the phone revealed that the Duke of York had authorized the man to set up an international financial initiative known as the Eurasia Fund to engage with potential partners and investors in China.
