Powerball Jackpot Hits World’s Largest $1,600,000,000
The Powerball jackpot hit an all-time high of $1.6 billion ahead of Saturday’s draw.
Game leaders raised estimates for the jackpot Friday morning with a cash value of $782.4 million. The $1.6 billion surpassed his $1.586 billion record set by the 2016 Powerball.
“We are seeing history being made with this $1.6 billion jackpot!” said Drew, Chairman of the Powerball Product Group and executive director of the Pennsylvania Lottery. I’m Svitko.
“What’s even more exciting is that the run has already yielded millions of winners, including nearly 100 players who have won over $1 million in prize money.”

The draw will take place at 10:59 PM ET at the Florida Lottery Drawing Studio in Tallahassee.
Ticket sales typically close 1-2 hours before the draw, depending on jurisdiction.
“There’s a lot of anticipation and excitement going into Saturday’s draw,” Svitko said. “I want to remind players that he only needs one ticket to win. Play responsibly.
The Powerball was last won in Pennsylvania on August 3rd.
If no player wins the 40th draw on Saturday, they will tie the record for the longest winning streak in a streak without a grand prize winner. His longest run to date was broken on October 4, 2021, when he won a ticket to the $699.8 million jackpot in California.

“This Powerball game gives players exactly what they want,” said Svitko.
Powerball tickets are $2 each. The game is played in his 45 states of Washington DC, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. The draw will be streamed live on Powerball.com.
Jackpot winners can choose to receive their reward as a lump sum or as an annuity paid in 30 tiered payments over 29 years.
The winner gets wiped out almost half of the proceeds due to taxes.
