Pete Davidson drops out of Jeff Bezos’ last space flight Blue Origin Ents and art news

Comedian Pete Davidson has dropped out of Jeff Bezos’ last space flight.

Saturday Night Live comic and boyfriend Kim Kardashianhe can no longer take part in the 20th voyage of the shuttle, the billionaire’s private space company Blue origin announced on social networks.

This comes after the date was postponed from March 23 to 29, and a replacement sixth crew member must now be found.

Star Trek actor William Shatner is among the previous famous guests who have made high-ranking space travel – becoming the oldest man to reach space in October 2021, at the age of 90 – along with former American football player and TV personality Michael Strahan.

“Pete Davidson can no longer join the NS-20 crew on this mission,” Blue Origin tweeted, announcing that the comedian had dropped out of the last flight. “We will announce the sixth crew member in the coming days.”

This comes amid a high-profile scandal between Davidson and rapper Kanye West, the ex-husband of Davidson Kardashian’s partner. Earlier this week, West – now known as Ye – temporarily blocked his Instagram account after publishing a series of online attacks against the 28-year-old comedian.

Davidson and Kardashian reportedly attended a dinner in January at the home of Amazon founder Bezos with his partner, journalist Lauren Sanchez, in Los Angeles. The comedian was invited to the space flight as a guest of Bezos and the company did not disclose the ticket price for paying customers.

Other passengers at Blue Origin include the president and CEO of Tricor International, a real estate corporation, and a “world researcher” who has visited all 193 UN-recognized countries.

The flight will be the 20th for Blue Origin’s New Shepard program and the fourth involving a human crew.

Like the first three groups of passengers, the space passengers will ride on a 6-story spacecraft that will take off from a launch pad near the rural town of Van Horn in West Texas.

The journey takes about 10 minutes from takeoff to landing, with the spacecraft rising to about 350,000 feet (106 km).

Blue Origin is one of a number of companies involved in the space tourism boom.

Richard Branson completed his first space trip to Virgin Atlantic in Julywhile Elon Musk’s SpaceX launched its first private flight in September.
