Party Down is back with Stars’ new six-part limited series, with the aim of bringing the original cast back.
More than 10 years after the broadcast ended after two acclaimed seasons, Party Down is back at Starz.
Cable Network announced Thursday that it is developing a revival of its 6-episode limited series.
Original creators Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), John Enbom (free agent) and Dan Etheridge (iZombie) are back in the development of the series.

The original series follows a group of six friends Ken Marino, Adam Scott, Ryan Hansen, Martin Starr, Lizzy Caplan and Megan Mullally, then moves to Los Angeles to become an actor and eventually catering. I worked for a company.
For each episode, party-down catering crews work at various events, trying to organize their lives in the process. The cast is closed by Jane Lynch and Jennifer Coolidge.
The show lasted only two seasons at Stars, Adam Scott left after the first season due to his commitment to Parks and Recreation, and Jane Lynch left due to Glee’s commitment.

“Before the party-down cast became a well-known television and movie actor and winner, they were all part of an incompetent team of catering waiters in Los Angeles while chasing stardom’s dreams at Stars. “I wore the same pink bow tie,” said Christina Davis, president of Starz’s original programming.
“Fans have been waiting for this revival for over a decade, and we’re excited to lead Rob, Paul, Dan, and John in development,” Davis added.
Regular: The cast also included JK Simmons, Joey Lauren Adams, Ken Jeong, Kristen Bell, and June Diane Raphael in regular roles.
The show was loved by critics and its enthusiastic fan base, but the show was difficult to evaluate and was canceled two seasons later.
Series co-creator Rob Thomas revealed that the idea of revival hatched during the 2019 reunion.
“At the end of 2019, all the cast and producers of’Party Down’reunited at a retrospective of the show hosted by Vulture,” said Thomas.
Cancellation: The show was loved by critics and their enthusiastic fan base, but the show struggled to evaluate and was canceled two seasons later.
“We had so much fun that we wanted to find a way to bring the team back together,” he added.
“The cast has been so busy these days that we may need trigonometry to find a window that can do it, but we’re determined to do that,” he concludes.
Karen Bailey, Executive Vice President of Original Programming, is the executive overseeing party downs on behalf of Stars.
Good time: “I had a great time and wanted to find a way to get the team back again,” he added.
Decision: “Since the cast has been busy lately, we may need trigonometry to find a window where we can do it, but we are determined to do that,” he concluded.
