She published the photos after the former English footballer was arrested for drunk driving in September 2017.

It was established that he had exceeded the limit almost three times and boarded a bar in the car with a passenger.

“I was in a vulnerable situation, I didn’t know how my marriage would develop,” she told the court.

A month later, an article appeared in The Sun stating that Wayne Rooney had been “admitted back to his marriage bed” after his wife forgave him.

Colleen Rooney said this was an example of personal information leaked to The Sun.

She told the court: “This was information that I was happy to share in the private group … but I did not want the public to know that.”

Rooney complained about the leak at the time, posting a screenshot of the personal post and saying, “GRASS hits again !!!”

She said she put the photo in her personal account, wondering if “this TERRIBLE newspaper” would appear.

She added: “If you really need the money so much, you could always just ask instead of being HILL !!!”

She called it her “first warning shot” and said Vardy had contacted her at the time to sympathize with the leak.

More key moments of the day:

  • Rooney said she was “surprised” by how much interest there was in her viral post on social media, accusing Rebecca Vardy’s account of leaking stories about her and using it as a “last resort”.
  • She also said she had tried three times in vain to avoid going to court.
  • Rebecca Vardi said she felt “harassed and manipulated” as she testified and came to court to “clear my name”.

The Abby Clancy incident

She was also questioned on an Instagram post by Abbey Clancy in which the model mistakenly shared personal information from Rooney.

Vardy’s lawyer, Hugh Tomlinson QC, said it showed that things had leaked before, although Rooney said it was a good example because Clancy had contacted her immediately and apologized.

She said Clancy did not understand that this was information about Rooney’s personal account and offered to remove it.

Chipola’s comments were “shameful”

Earlier, the Supreme Court heard the last part of Vardi’s testimony, in which she discussed the comments she made that Peter Andre was “hanging like a little chipot”.

Vardy, who was 22 when she remarked in an interview, said she was very young at the time and described it as “shameful” and “one of my biggest regrets”.

Asked if she had spoken to Andre about it since, she said: “I haven’t talked to him, but I sent both his wife and him personal messages a few years ago.”

The tension between Jamie Vardy and Wayne Rooney was “with ***”

Vardy’s lawyer also raised a series of media stories suggesting that there was tension between her footballer husband Jamie Vardy and Wayne Rooney over Rebecca’s constant media attention.

Stories say that Wayne Rooney offered Jamie Vardy to ask his wife to keep a lower profile.

Asked if the conversation had taken place, Rebecca Vardy said her husband had told her there had been no discussion between the two men and he had called it a “load of hooks”.
