Matthew Lyblesberger’s distraught ‘suicide note’ explains why he blew up Cybertruck outside Trump Vegas Hotel

Cybertruck bomber Matthew Leiblesberger claimed that China is stalking the United States with unrestricted suicide mail using sophisticated drones launched from submarines.

Two other notes recorded on his cell phone and recovered by police revealed that his motive was not terrorism or violence, but simply to draw attention to his manifesto.

The former Green Beret and current active duty soldier shot himself in the head seconds before an improvised explosive device detonated in the back of his rented truck.

On Wednesday, an explosion occurred outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, injuring seven people who were there.

A suicide note sent by a person claiming to be himself to retired U.S. Army intelligence officer Sam Shumate shortly before the bombing.

The email claimed that mysterious drones seen flying over New Jersey and other parts of the East Coast were Chinese weapons.

He warned that they were well-armed, could attack anywhere and were “the most dangerous threat to national security that has ever existed.”

Investigators are looking into whether the bombing was related to the terrorist attacks in New Orleans or whether it was motivated by Libersberger’s personal problems.

The FBI said in a press conference Friday afternoon that he acted alone and that his actions were fueled by PTSD and various personal grievances.

FBI Special Agent Spencer Evans said, “This case is more public and sensational than usual, but the bottom line is that a heavily decorated veteran who suffers from PTSD and other issues…” “It appears to be a tragic suicide incident in which he was involved.” This was announced by the Las Vegas division.

Las Vegas police also shared excerpts from two other writings recorded on his phone’s notes app, indicating that the bombing was to draw attention to his concerns.

“We (the United States) are terminally ill and heading toward collapse. This was not a terrorist attack, but a wake-up call,” the letter said.

“Americans only care about spectacle and violence. What better way to get my point across than with a stunt involving fireworks and explosives?”

“Why did I personally do that now?” I need to cleanse my heart, cleanse it of my lost brothers, and free myself from the burden of the lives I took. ”

Las Vegas Undersheriff Dori Koren said another letter “lists a variety of grievances and issues, some political, some personal, some others, and we will do our best to get them public as soon as possible.” ” he said.

In part, it appealed to veterans and Americans: “It’s time to wake up. We are being led by weak and reckless leaders whose sole purpose is to enrich themselves.”

The email sent to Shumate claimed to be from Libersberger and made further fanciful claims and harbingers of doom.

“What we have seen with ‘drones’ is that China, more recently on the East Coast, and the United States throughout history, operate aircraft powered by gravity (sic) propulsion systems. and only China has this capability,” the email said.

“China has been launching submarines from the Atlantic Ocean for years, but this activity has recently increased.

“At this point, this is just a show of force and they are using it in the same way they used balloons for sigint and ISR, which is part of the integrated communications system. I am.”

“There are always dozens of balloons floating in the air.

“The speed and stealth of these unmanned ACs make them the most dangerous threat to national security that has ever existed.”

The email, purportedly from Libersberger, also claimed that he was being “tracked” by authorities for helping cover up “war crimes” in Afghanistan.

“I’ve probably been followed by my home country or the FBI for over a week now and they’re trying to move me so it’s unlikely that I’ll be allowed into Mexico, but they know I’m armed and unarmed. We won’t do that because we know it’s a “massive VBIED.”

“I try to keep my profile visible and I keep my phone, but they are definitely tracking me digitally.”

Shumate said he received the email on Dec. 31 and turned it over to the FBI, but then decided to release it on his friend Sean Ryan’s podcast on Friday.

Ryan is a former U.S. Navy SEAL and CIA contractor from 1994 to 2016, and is now an author and runs a podcast with a similar style to Joe Rogan.

“I knew if I went public with this, especially since I’m an intelligence agent, I would be drawn into the ‘gross boy’ conspiracy cycle,” Shumate wrote on Twitter.

“I had no other choice. The man dumped it in my inbox. When I saw his name on the news, I had little choice but to turn it over to federal authorities.

“We knew the FBI wouldn’t release it, or at least not have an agenda attached, so we brought it to Sean Ryan. He has the platform to handle the scale of this information and as objectively as possible. Because I’m planning to make it public.”

This email attempted to prove that it was from Mr. Libersberger himself by including details about his life that only Mr. Libersberger knew.

These included that his first car was a 2006 black Ford Mustang V6 and that he “has an active TSSCI with UAP USAP access.”

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill said police had been aware of the email for some time but had not yet confirmed its authenticity.

“We have not yet fully considered it and fully tested it,” he said.

“I understand that all of this is out there, but I believe it’s our responsibility to tell you what we know to be true, and that’s what I will continue to do. .”

McMahill said Libersberger was an honored soldier who served in five combats and suffered from PTSD.

“They’re exposed to things, see things, hear things, feel things, smell things that most normal people don’t have to do,” he said.

“And the heroes serving on the front lines of our military and America’s law enforcement are being challenged to do just that.”

Libersberger was a sergeant in the Special Operations Command and was on leave from the military at the time of his death.

He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, and three Army Commendation Medals.

Libersberger left his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on December 30 and arrived in Las Vegas about an hour before the bomb went off.

He rented the Cybertruck from a Denver owner through the Turo car-sharing platform, the same website used by the New Orleans terrorists.

The FBI said the suspect acted alone and was not connected to the Bourbon Street attack that killed 14 people celebrating New Year’s Eve at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday.

“We are aware that there was a bombing, a bombing that definitely has elements that cause concern,” Mr Evans said.

“There’s nothing wrong with us that it’s in front of President Trump’s building, that it’s a Tesla car. But at this point, we don’t think it’s because of this particular ideology or the reasons behind it. There is no information that conclusively indicates or suggests that.

Local police also aired videos of Libersberger at charging stations and other stops along the route from Denver to Las Vegas.

One of the phone notes, called a “surveillance log,” was “like a diary” covering his activities in the 10 days before the bombing.

Police said the “diary” matched CCTV and reports of his activities on the way to Las Vegas, including purchasing guns and camping equipment.

They also revealed exactly how Libersberger killed himself, seconds before the explosion, as determined by the medical examiner.

Police said the man put a pistol in his mouth and fired, killing him instantly when the bullet exited the left side of his head.

Special Agent Evans reiterated that there is no connection between the Liberzburger bombing and the New Orleans terrorist attack.

He said there was no communication between Libersberger and ISIS terrorist Shamsud Din Jabar and that the similarities were coincidental.

Among them were Jabbar and Libersberger, both military veterans, who rented cars through Turo and used Airbnb.

“We have not observed any phone or email communication between the subjects. There is no information to suggest they knew each other,” he said.

“Although they were never in the same unit or assigned to the same location at the same time and interacted, interviews with witnesses indicate that the two events are somehow related. No corroboration or information provided.”

“There is no confirmed connection between this subject and any terrorist organization.”

Evans said Libersberger, whose family and friends have repeatedly said he is a big fan of Donald Trump, “has no animosity toward the president-elect.”

“He was likely suffering from PTSD and we recognize that other underlying family issues and personal grievances in his own life may have been contributing factors. ” he said.
