Mason Greenwood has recently “mature” at Manchester United, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims.
The teenager has been struggling for form this season after being expelled from England in September.
Like Phil Foden, 19-year-old Greenwood was banned from three-lions action in four games after the two smuggled girls to a team hotel within 24 hours of their England debut in Reykjavik.
He was also warned by United himself earlier this season about concerns surrounding his attitude.
However, following his goal against Liverpool on Sunday, in his first match of 11 games, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave his No. 11 words of encouragement.
Prior to last night’s defeat, he said: “I think Mason will be very important later in the season, but that won’t happen on its own.
“He was expected to play and kick West Ham some time ago. He has taken a step, grown up, matured and has been training with Edinson Cavani for half a season.
“He’s learning good habits. It’s a shame for anyone who doesn’t learn from a player like him, Bruno (Fernandes), or the player we brought.
“I’m confident that Mason will perform well and get goals and assists.
“We talk about Second Season Syndrome, and if you take your eyes off the ball for a short while, the Premier League is unforgiving.

“I’ve always said that 99% effort is 100% failure. Of course, the player who makes training a little easier every day isn’t saying Mason, he says it applies to everyone. The single thing-it’s always a learning curve and a test.
“They know my requirements for standards, habits, physical requirements, and running stats. I see them in every game. There is no hiding place and I don’t hide that fact either. Hmm.
“Hell is needed for good players to rest. Cristiano Ronaldo may have been allowed to be with us that day, but Manchester United couldn’t allow any more.”
Greenwood has already seen how good a £ 37m new hire, Amad Diallo, is, so we need to be careful.
He praised his fellow teens in an interview with MUTV. “A new player, Amad, has arrived.
“He’s a great technical player and I’m sure I’ll see him more in the near future.”
Last season, Greenwood entered the scene with 17 goals in 49 Red Devil’s games.
However, they are difficult to come by this season and manage only 4 out of 24 outings.
