Queen Elizabeth II detained after ‘sabotage’ in Queen’s Lying County of Westminster

A man has been arrested “after a ruckus” at Westminster Hall where the Queen is lying, following reports that someone ran up the steps to Catafalk and touched the coffin.

London Metropolitan Police are said to have rushed the man into custody shortly before 10pm on Friday.

Sources told The Guardian that the man jumped out of the queue passing through the Catafalque, managed to climb the stairs and touched the coffin before being quickly detained.

A Scotland Yard statement said: “Parliament and the Diplomatic Protection Command have detained a man at Westminster Hall following the disturbance.”

The man was arrested for violating public order and morals and is currently in custody.

The chaos is believed to have occurred just before 10pm, when many mourners would have been in line for over 12 hours. The station broadcasting the procession of mourners was cut off from the scene and instead showed a view from outside the Capitol.

A few hours ago, the King, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward stood around the Queen’s coffin.

A man has appeared in Westminster’s Magistrate’s Court following allegations that two women had been sexually assaulted while waiting in line to see the Queen lying.

Given the growing danger of terrorist attacks due to large crowds gathering in central London, an enormous amount of planning has been made for security measures in preparation for lying within the state.
