Conte was available on Monday 5/1, but was returned overnight to 8/11 on behalf of Old Trafford’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Sun Sport understands Italians are on the list of four candidates who are being considered for the job.

Zinedine Zidane, Brendan Rodgers, Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag are also candidates.

The key agents are instructed to contact these four managers to find out each club’s plan and contract request.

Conte is a front runner and wants that position even though he doesn’t like to participate in projects in the middle of the campaign.

Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist, said:

“He didn’t like joining clubs during the season because it wasn’t his style. The only club that can change Antonio’s mind is Manchester United.”

Romano continued: “For days, Antonio Conte’s decision is unquestionable.

“He wants a Manchester United job and will be ready to accept it, but at the moment there is no official proposal yet,” he said.

Conte remains a free agent who left Inter Milan after leading them to the Serie A title for the first time in over a decade.

Elsewhere, Zinedine Zidane has drifted significantly from 2/1 to 10/1, with some reports claiming to be uninterested.

Brendan Rodgers is also 10/1, with Eric Ten Hag and PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino further behind on 12/1 and 14/1, respectively.

Solskger was in charge of the Manchester United match on Saturday in Tottenham and was advised by Sir Alex Ferguson, who supported his ex-students.

United will face a Crunch Champions League draw with Atalanta four days later before Manchester Derby.

Solskger and his staff are understood to be worried that if the team performs poorly on these three outings, they may be fired.
