Man Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison for Murder of a Murderer Who Became a Criminal Writer | UK news

The man who helped organize the murder of a convicted Dutch murderer who became a crime writer has been jailed for at least 25 years.

Christopher Hughes, 33, was with Martin Kok, 49, when he was shot and killed on December 8, 2016, near the Boccaccio Club in Lauren, the Netherlands.

Hughes, a member of an organized crime group, had warned others about Mr Coke’s whereabouts and told them as he left the club.

Mr Kok, who was convicted of murder, created a blog detailing the activities of the perpetrators.

Hughes was sentenced to life in prison by a Glasgow Supreme Court for murder and sentenced to life in prison for a minimum of 25 years.

The 33-year-old from Glasgow was also sentenced to six years in prison for his participation in a serious organized crime, at the same time as the other sentence.

Prosecutors said that for almost seven years, from July 1, 2013, to January 7, 2020, Hughes was involved in an organized crime group with international access.

He was involved in the importation and supply of cocaine, firearms, ammunition, money laundering, and the establishment of cryptocurrency companies around the world.

After Hughes was found guilty, Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Houston described him as a “dangerous person” and said his conviction was “a testament to the Scottish Police’s relentless pursuit of criminals who think they are immune or outlawed.” »:

“Christopher Hughes has been a key member of an organized crime group for many years that promoted criminal behavior that culminated in the brutal murder of Martin Kok,” said Laura Buchen.
