Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury will stop training from training until next year to undergo surgery after the skipper has a broken leg.

Pendlebury knocked on his left lower limb during Friday morning training, and subsequent scans revealed a broken hairline.

The blow occurred near the sight of a leg injury, and the 33-year-old missed the last four rounds of 2021. AFL season.

Pendlebury will put the plate on his leg within the next 36 hours to make sure he is ready to return to training in January.

“It’s frustrating for Scott, but this is a minor setback,” said Collingwood GM of football Graham Wright.

“Given his previous injury, we are cautious.

“He needs a minimum of time to take his feet off, but it’s okay to go when the program returns to New Year’s training.”
