Macron challenger Eric Zemmour headlocked when supporters clashed with anti-racists at his first campaign rally.

The far-right fire brand, hoping to become the next president of France, was physically attacked at his first campaign rally in Paris today.

Eric Zemmour, 63, was put into a headlock by an unidentified perpetrator while walking in a crowd at the Zenith Arena in northern Paris on Sunday.

“The attacker rushed with his arm, grabbed his neck and then pulled Zemmour towards him,” witnesses said.

“Mr. Zemmour always had bodyguards around him, and they moved to grab the perpetrator and pulled him apart,” sources added.

According to Zemmour’s aides, the violence was filmed, reported to police in a video published on Twitter, and said to be “under investigation.”

Meanwhile, he announced the launch of a new party called Re-Conquest (Reconquête), which will fight to “save France” from its current decline.

Zemmour announced his candidacy to become head of state only after eight women reported sexual abuse by Zemmour that week.

Among them is Aurora van Opstal, a 31-year-old Belgian writer who claims to have been attacked by Zemmour at a cafe in Paris two years ago.

Evidence was presented this week, but neither Zemmour nor his campaign aide responded.

Spokesmen from both the Paris Police Department and the prosecutor said they were not in a position to discuss the possibility of criminal accusations against Mr Zemmour.

Two weeks ago, Zemmour placed a legal bid to prevent Closer magazine from revealing details of a secret case with campaign manager Sarah Nafo, 28, who is hoping for a baby in April. I failed.

Both Zemmour and Nafo have complained about “privacy breaches,” but Zemmour’s 62-year-old lawyer’s wife, Milene Chikportich, has not yet commented on the scandal.

Earlier this month, Zemmour was tried in Paris for calling child immigrants “thieves, rapists, and murderers.”

A verdict in the case of “accomplices to inducing racial hatred and racial insults” is expected in January.

Zemmour, who turned from a print journalist to a television expert, has already been convicted twice on similar charges, but remains highly regarded in polls.

He is looking to undertake Macron in next year’s presidential election has not yet officially raced.

Current polls suggest that if he can defeat the far-right National Rally candidate Marine Le Pen in the first round, he will face Macron directly in the second round of the contest.

Zemmour has the potential to stand on a platform that will end all immigrants for a decade and strengthen the legal protection of immigrants entering the country.
