It: M62: It is completely blocked at Eccles Interchange without any traffic. The collision took place about an hour ago, as a result of which the highway was closed in both directions by the traffic building.

The announcement of the National Highways website says: “In Greater Manchester, the M62 is closed to the east due to a serious collision between J11 (Birchwood) and J12. All emergency services, including the North West Highway Police Team, are currently at the scene. National Highway Traffic Officers also assisted traffic management at the scene.

“Please note that this incident also closes the road from M60 clockwise to M62.”

  • At the roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the M62 to the west, take the J10
  • Then head south on M6 to J21

  • At the A57 / M60 roundabout, take the first exit onto the M60 to the north, then follow. 1 mile
  • At M60 / M602 junction, reconnect east to M62
