Lakeside Software Digital Workplace Productivity Report Confirms More Than 30% of Employees to Consider Retirement Due to Bad Technological Experiences –

The average worker is operating at 60% capacity due to technology limit in the workplace

Lakeside Softwareleader in digital experience management (DEM), today unveiled its 2022 Digital Workplace Productivity Report (the “Report”), revealing that organizations are struggling to support remote and hybrid employees.

The Report reveals:

  • Employee frustration: the technology they interact with every day and the complete IT infrastructure that supports their workplace.
  • Lower output: on average, employees claim that they achieve only 60% of their potential work output due to the sub-optimal quality of their overall digital experience.
  • Productivity losses: output is also hampered by regular IT interruptions, and employees lose 54 minutes of work time each week due to technical issues.
  • Modern technology: the role that new technologies, such as employee digital experience (DEX) platforms can play in supporting high – performing, productive teams.

Tackling this productivity gap is a huge challenge for businesses as a whole, from IT to HR departments, as Lakeside’s research shows that 40% of technology issues in the workplace, such as network connectivity, application performance, and system errors, going unreported to IT teams.

“The Digital Workplace Productivity Report identified a critical flaw in most organizations,” said David Keil, CEO at Lakeside Software. “Not only are many employees feeling hampered by their technology in the workplace, but IT staff are also frustrated by the lack of visibility into how and when issues occur.

“The loss of almost one hour per week per employee per IT downtime is a major productivity issue for enterprise organizations,” said Keil. “By taking steps to proactively prevent problems across their IT infrastructure, business leaders can minimize downtime and achieve millions of dollars in regenerative revenue each year.”

As organizations continue to compete for talent, it is vital that businesses have the right tools and capabilities to support a workforce of any kind. Platforms that support the digital employee experience (DEX) can drive positive change by analyzing how employees interact with the organization’s computing devices, local and cloud applications, networks and virtual infrastructures (VDIs) ).

Strong DEX is also critical to retaining employees and acquiring talent. 36 per cent of employees report that they thought of leaving an employer because of bad digital experiences – and 14% of those admitted that they actually did. This is a significant challenge in a competitive environment where almost half of the world’s employees are considering changing jobs.

Survey Methodology

Lakeside Software commissioned ESI ThoughtLab to conduct market research from February to March 2022. The study gathered perspectives from a total of 600 respondents: 200 employees, 200 C-level executives, and 200 IT executives and staff
