The Los Angeles FC is concluding a deal with Welsh superstar Gareth Bale, many media outlets reported on Saturday.
The 32-year-old striker will be in the status of a free agent when his contract with “Real” Madrid expires at the end of this month.
His initial contract with LAFC will be for one year and includes an optional 18-month extension, according to The Athletic.
Bale is expected to join Italian star Giorgio Chiellini at LAFC when the secondary transfer window opens on July 7.
Bale is one of the most award-winning players of his generation, having won five Champions League titles and three La Liga titles since joining Real Madrid in 2013.
Bale lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League with 23 goals and 60 assists in 237 games (2007-13, 2020-21).
Internationally, Bale has made 106 appearances for Wales, scoring 39 goals, helping the team qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1958 at the end of this year.
