A 33-year-old woman who lost her father Mick to suicide last January appeared on ITV’s Loose Women and talked about the importance of mental health as part of the show’s Stand By Your Man campaign.

Kirk looked back on his painful loss and how he felt when he discovered that Mick had died at the age of 57, and sadly said he knew he had lost him.

Kirk explained: “I lived next to my dad and was with him the night before. That morning I was having breakfast.”

“He actually gave me the next business strategy, but that afternoon he committed suicide.”

Former reality stars continued that when Mick’s partner called him, he discovered the tragic news that Mick had died.

He continued, holding back tears. “I was having lunch indoors. My dad’s partner called me,” I can’t find your dad. ” I don’t know why, but I met him that morning and I knew what had happened. ”

The visibly emotional Kirk continued while the panel comforted him: “I knew what happened, I don’t know why.”

Then he went on to try to compose himself: “I found him.”

“I took my dad to the floor and gave him CPR. I did my best, but I knew he was gone. The moment I saw him I knew it was surreal and my life seemed to be over, but I had a lot to do at the same time. “

“I told him it was time to sleep with my dad and rest,” Kirk continued.

Kirk continued to explain that Mick had a hard time during the pandemic because he had been detained for 12 weeks.

He said, “My dad was the host. He wanted to make everyone around him smile. If everyone around him was happy, he was happy.”

“I think that’s why the blockade really influenced the good people when they were around. [want to] Make people smile. Then they say, “I can’t go” and “I have to stay in this house.” ”

“If you’re alone, I think your heart is the worst place,” Kirk said, who has suffered from PTSD and flashbacks since his father’s death.

Kirk then urged others to open the door to their loved ones about how they felt, emphasizing that it was never seen as a “weakness.”

He said: “I can’t really stress people [enough.] You have to convey your feelings to the people. Tell people when you’re happy, but why not let people know when you’re sad? ”
