Kathryn Kates died at the age of 73 after the fight against cancer, her official said.
The headline talent agency confirmed that Seinfeld’s star died on Saturday, January 22nd.
“She has always been incredibly brave and wise and has taken on every role with the utmost passion. She will be greatly missed.”
Kathryn was cast for her first acting role in the 1982 movie Life of the Party: The Story of Beatrice.

She won one of her big breaks starring in Seinfeld between 1994 and 1996 as a counterwoman for the episodes The Rye and The Dinner Party.
After playing the role of Mrs. Carabino in the television series Lizzie McGuire, Kathryn starred in Friends from College, Hunter, and the Shade of Blue.
Her recent roles include playing Amy Kanter-Bloom on the popular Netflix show Orange Is the New Black and Judge Marlene Simons on the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Since then, star fans have flocked to Twitter and shared their condolences, as one wrote: “Resting at Power Kathryn Kates. You’ve always been the joy and lesson of seeing work.”
