Jennifer Lopez and baseball star Alex Rodriguez have canceled their engagement-a month after denying reports of their split.
In a joint statement to NBC Today Show on Thursday, the pair said:
“We will continue to work together and support each other in the businesses and projects we share.
“We will do our best for each other and each other’s children.
“In honor of them, the only other comment we have to say is to thank everyone for their kind words and support.”
Lopez, 51, and Rodriguez, 45, began dating in 2017 and announced their engagement in March 2019.
Rumors swirled on US gossip sites such as Page Six, People, and TMZ after anonymous sources reported in March of this year that the power couple had “roughly patched” an informal split.
Lopez shares his twins Max and Emme, 13 years old, with his ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Rodriguez shares his daughters Natasha (16) and Ella (12) with his ex-wife Cynthia Scartis.
Singer, film producer and actress Lopez are probably best known for starring in Jennifer from the Brock and the 2019 movie Hustlers.
Rodriguez was a successful baseball player and retired from sports in 2016 after a 22-year career in which he hit 696 home runs-putting him fourth on the sport’s previous home run list.
