“The homes aren’t far away, so if the conditions are the same for everyone, the real strength comes out. I think that’s probably why this is the most competitive IPL.

“It was great to have the opportunity to come out and play. Greater situations are happening all over the world and we all have contributed to it.

“We are honored to be part of that and give our fans something.”

Kori added: “Looking at the first inning, I don’t think there were enough boards.

“The positions we got in the second half probably needed better execution, but it’s a game of margins.

“In my opinion, there weren’t enough runs on the board.

“We allowed the bowlers to bowl where they wanted and didn’t put pressure on them. We chose a lot of fielders.

“Some people got up and had a good season. Devdutt, Siraj, Yuzi and AB are still strong. Therefore, there are some advantages.”

Meanwhile, David Warner, captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, said:

“We had to beat the top three to reach the knockout stage and we had to beat the top three again to win the tournament.

“Kane’s masterclass, he’s been doing it for New Zealand for years. I support him when there’s a guy like Kane at the end, but it was a bit closer to my taste.

“Delhi is a great team. We talked about their world class bowling. It should be a great match.”
