Weirich was transferred to prison following a sex tape scandal in which he had sex with disgraced police officer Linda de Sousa Abreu, 31, in his cell.
De Sousa Abreu was sentenced to 15 months in prison earlier this month after the video went viral on social media.
After the Dec. 18 attack, Weirich and the infant were rushed to the hospital, where the infant was found to have a skull fracture and the inmate suffered a head injury.
Kent Police confirmed to MailOnline that the man was reportedly punched by another inmate in the visiting area, causing him to fall on top of the young baby he was holding.
A suspect has been identified but has not yet been arrested.
The child’s mother witnessed the unexpected attack and was heartbroken, sources told The Sun.

“It’s terrifying to see her child unresponsive and knocked out,” the source said.
Kent Police said in a statement: “Kent Police are investigating an alleged assault that occurred at HMP Swaleside on 18 December 2024.”
“It is reported that an inmate was punched by another inmate in the visitor area. The victim suffered head injuries and fell on top of the 3-month-old baby he was holding.
“The baby suffered a skull fracture but has been released from the hospital. The suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.”
South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed to The Sun that they attended an incident at the prison that day.
De Sousa Abreu appeared in court for sentencing earlier this month, pleading guilty to misconduct after an X-rated video filmed at Wandsworth Prison went viral on social media.
The footage showed a uniformed prison officer having sex with Ms. Weirich, and her discarded radio was constantly crackling with messages from her colleagues.
De Souza Abreu, from Brazil, is a married swinger with an eight-year-old daughter. She was arrested at Heathrow Airport while traveling with her father, but denied attempting to flee the country.

De Sousa Abreu, wearing a gray pinstriped blazer over a white shirt, was sentenced to 15 months in prison at Isleworth Crown Court, but will likely serve less than a third of his time behind bars. Probably.
Judge Martin Edmunds (KC), Recorder of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, said de Sousa Abreu had breached his role as a prison officer, undermining discipline and putting prison officers at risk.
De Sousa Abreu admitted to having sexual relations with the same inmate on separate occasions, but was also seen performing oral sex on him on the same day the original sex tape was filmed. It was captured on his own body camera.
Weirich was jailed for four-and-a-half years at Kingston Crown Court in June last year for robbery after stealing valuables worth £65,000 from a safe in a Kensington flat.
De Sousa Abreu, who claimed to have “found faith in God” since the incident, also has an OnlyFans account where he shares explicit content.
